Ballet 2A Teaching Artist

Compensation: Hourly/Timesheet

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Batesville Rd. Studios

FY: 2022 (2021-2022 Season)

Candidates should have two+ years of dance instruction experience with children

ages 8-11. Preference for applicants with an extensive dance background, a degree in elementary or early childhood education, or professional equivalency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated excellence in working with young children is a must.

  • Previous experience in teaching ballet preferred.

  • Capable of preparing a short presentation for End of Year Demonstration

  • Support the philosophy and mission of International Ballet

  • Teach in a manner that reflects IB values of respect and encouragement

  • Must possess awareness of time equity and fairness in classroom

  • Have a desire to learn the school’s syllabus and plan lessons accordingly

  • Works in a detail-oriented manner

  • Communicate directly, respectfully, and effectively with students, parents, other faculty and staff at all times

  • Desire to work collaboratively as part of the team

  • Understanding of musicality

  • Willingness to take constructive feedback and embrace a reflective approach to teaching

Adult Ballet Teaching Artist

Compensation: Hourly/Timesheet

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Batesville Rd. Studios

FY: 2022 (2021-2022 Season)

Candidates should have two+ years of ballet instruction experience. Preference for applicants with experience teaching adults and can manage varying levels in one class setting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated excellence in ballet knowledge.

  • Previous experience in teaching ballet to adults preferred.

  • Support the philosophy and mission of International Ballet

  • Teach in a manner that reflects IB values of respect and encouragement

  • Must possess awareness of time equity and fairness in classroom

  • Communicate directly, respectfully, and effectively with students, other faculty and staff at all times

  • Desire to work collaboratively as part of the team

  • Willingness to take constructive feedback and embrace a reflective approach to teaching
